If I hadn't read some of the other comments or looked at the groups this photo is submitted to, I wouldn't have known at all to associate it with anything having to do with vampires; all I see is a beautiful, young woman, who looks pensive, unsure, or perhaps conflicted about the choice she had made to (presumably) marry. I don't understand the significance of blue roses; if its a vampire thing you'll have to fill me in on that. Nice photo. Simple, but speaks volumes.
I like your interpretation - maybe she's conflicted by tales she's heard concerning her future husband. I'll be playing up the vampire element more in the other photos from this shoot - I had originally thought about editing this one to look a bit more ghostly and nocturnal, but in the end couldn't bring myself to change it because I love the autumnal colours so much. As for the significance of blue roses, they don't exist in nature so they are often seen to represent a mysterious or impossible love. They have also been associated with persons of royal blood, so I think in both respects they're quite befitting of a Bride of Dracula. More importantly, they look nice against all that orange
Its nice to see how thoroughly you thought out all the symbolism used; some people may just take a photo and hope for the best, or hope the viewer's comments will exaggerate their effort; photos like this take a great deal more into consideration, and it must be personally rewarding for you when people pick up on what you intended, in the minute or subtle things; I know that for my artwork, it makes me feel good when at least one person either says something I was thinking when drawing it, or understands exactly what I was trying for.
